Community Solutions

Community Solutions Partnership Services Limited (CSPS) has been selected by Bournville Village Trust (BVT) as its preferred development partner to work with the Trust to develop nursing and dementia care facilities as part of the Trust’s larger 'Bournville Care Village' development.

As development partner, CSPS is now working with the Trust to deliver the second phase of the development, a high quality new build project providing general needs nursing and intermediate care plus specialist dementia care.

Bournville Care Village is a major scheme set to deliver a range of facilities for the elderly in a modern ‘campus’ style development in the heart of the Bournville Estate in Birmingham. The overall development will incorporate Extra Care facilities, and a new Health and Well Being Centre, as well as nursing and dementia care, all set within high quality landscaped grounds.

Bournville Village Trust was founded by George Cadbury in 1900 as a Charitable Trust to provide a balanced community of decent homes for people from a wide range of backgrounds. More than 100 years later it remains committed to its founder’s aims which remain highly relevant in the twenty first century: namely to create and sustain flourishing communities where people want to live.

The provision of specialist accommodation with support for vulnerable older people has always been an important part of BVT’s work and in the Bournville Care Village the Trust has a fantastic opportunity to create something special in the heart of the community to respond to local people’s needs.

CSPS are hoping to finalise financial and legal arrangements with the Trust and operators, enabling construction to start during the autumn of 2013, with completion of facilities expected in the spring of 2015.

Alastair Gourlay, managing director of CSPS said "We are particularly proud to be selected by Bournville Village Trust as its development partner for this important and much needed landmark development in the heart of its community. We look forward to working in partnership with the Trust to enable the successful delivery of its vision for the Bournville Care Village".

Peter Roach, Chief Executive of Bournville Village Trust said "Having just received a Planning Consent for the first phase of development at Bournville Care Village, for a fantastic new Extra Care project in conjunction with ExtraCare Charitable Trust, I am delighted that we are now making good progress with the second phase which sees us appointing Community Solutions as our Developer Partner to build specialist Nursing & Dementia facilities which will be such an important ingredient in our overall aim to provide an integrated range of services which respond well to the needs of the local community and indeed South Birmingham as a whole".
